We live in 1984

all we see in the media is double speak
people are getting arrested for though-crime
mass mind control, it begins when we are born
we live under constant surveillance, oyster cards, cameras
everywhere you go, 'big brother is watching you',
nobody seems to care,
'if you have nothing to hide' is the common answer
loss of privacy
enslavement of the mind
no freedom of speech
we are doomed and there's more to come
things beyond imagination
we really live in a sick world
but don't listen to me, go back
and watch tv.

Mixing Songs

The sun is out
And the wind is blowing hard
So we stay inside
A Chameleon is being tattooed on my arm
Little girl playing on the floor
Laughter surrounds us
Funny things are being said
Everything we do, she wants too
Look auntie, Dorothy also has a tattoo
Isn't she so cute?
But the pain is now filling my brain
She looks at me wild eyed
Smiles and strokes my hair
Don't worry, she says
When you are done, you just have to eat
And it will all be fine
She's two and a half, so smart
She talks like a tagarela
Blending languages
Nao fecha seus eyes
And we all laugh and we are done
Que lindo! She says looking
At my green Chameleon
Auntie, will you sit next to me in the car?
She grabs my hand and this way we walk
She sings the whole way home
Mixing songs until she's asleep
Obey, obey, obey
That's what they say
Never ask questions
They are always right
Just comply
You have no choice

Buy, buy, buy
Stuff that you don't need
With money you don't have
As George Carlin said

Pay, pay, pay
That's what they say
Study to become a slave
Work to pay for your studies
Pay to work, pay to live

Wasn't living supposed to be for free?
Where's our freedom?
Isn't the world ours?

Why do I need permission
to visit another part of the world?
Imaginary lines
Separating us

Where's our freedom gone?
Nobody seems to notice nor care
I  feel despair
When I see that the world is
Far away from changing.
